Polartherm has produced airplane ground support heaters since 1984. Our product range covers heaters for airplanes from Commuter size to Widebody.
Polartherm military heaters include AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment) and Temporary Shelter heating equipment. Rescue organisations and emergency operations have frequently found use for this equipment as well.
Airplane Ground Support Heaters
Polar 120 HD and GSH-1 models are designed for heating up narrow body airplanes and also maintaining the temperature during planes' overnight stays at the airport. The heaters are equipped with powerful centrifugal blower, heating unit, generator and fuel tank. Both heaters can also be operated straight from the electric power network.
Polar GSH-W20 is a Heavy-Duty ground heater for Widebody Aircraft. Utilizing a large blower, electrically powered by a Deuz 4-cylinder Diesel and a generator, the unit moves the heating air efficiently throughout the whole fuselage of the aircraft. Conceptually, the design is similar to that of Polartherm's narrowbody aircraft heaters: Heat energy is produced by a combustor system and air movement by the blower. The design allows versatile adjustments of Air Temperature, Volume and Pressure.
The heat is produced with either fuel oil or kerosenes (JET-A, JET-A1).

Military Heaters
Polartherm has manufactured portable oil fired heaters for over 30 years. The design and configuration of our military heaters is based on our know-how and accumulated experience. Given the set of Customer requirements, we modify and combine our proven components and systems to configurate a unit that satisfies those requirements. Mostly, we can use components directly from our commercial line and "package" those to make a customer-specific equipment.
Our biggest Military Customer is the United States Air Force. Polartherm is the Prime Contractor for two of the most recent large heater contracts awarded by the USAF. Over 6000 units have been delivered since 1999, with thousands more to come under the present Contracts. For operations in the USA, we have assembly, QA, shipping and office facilities in Indiana. Our military design Shelter Heaters have found use outside the military community as well. They are widely used in heating temporary housing, field hospitals etc.. by international Humanitarian and catastrophy relief organizations.
